Dear Sirs,

I am a fourth-year graduate student in the Computer Science Department
at Stanford University, and will receive my Ph.D. this year.
My dissertation is in the field of Artificial Intelligence, and I shall
be presenting a paper at the Fourth International Joint Conference
on Artificial Intelligence, to be held this September in Tbilisi.

After the conference, my wife and I shall be touring the USSR.
We will be in Moscow from 16 September to 19 September, and would
enjoy seeing your establishment and meeting some of you with similar interests.
Although time does not permit you to reply, we shall stop by (probably
in the afternoon of Wednesday, 17 September); we shall inquire whether
there is anyone expecting us.  Perhaps you can contact us through
Intourist, and leave a message about a more definite time and place for
a tour, meeting, etc.  If you wish me to present a brief talk about my work,
I shall be prepared for that as well.
